Matthew sens - PhD candidate
From genes to ecosystems: the influence of fisheries-induced evolution on the structure and function of aquatic food webs in mountain lakes
The objective of Matthew Sens’ PhD project is to quantify how evolutionary processes in size-selectively harvested fish populations influence the structure and function of aquatic food webs in lakes. He will address this objective by measuring ecological stoichiometric traits and essential fatty acids among macroinvertebrate and zooplankton communities, and link these with genetic variation in harvested fish populations, fish population abundance, health and nutritional quality.
